The mansion is a two-story building in the style of the Italian Renaissance architecture with Baroque elements. In accordance with the architect's plan, the appearance of the building was supposed to represent a completely new approach to the interpretation of the Baroque style and differ from the already built at the time in St. Petersburg mansions. Subsequently, this style will be called "neobaroque."
The main halls of the palace (Pink, White, Blue) are executed in different styles. To decorate the interior, artificial marble, stucco molding and gilding were used. Orders for the execution of artistic and decorative works of the interior of the palace were given to the best and most famous at that time masters.
